It's not that bad!!
Ok, so yes, this unit is loud. But I actually like it because it provides background noise at night for my two young daughters. It helps them to sleep more soundly, believe it or not... I understand that's not for everyone, but it's a nice, consistent noise, and is great for drowning out other sounds at night.
I think it provides decent humidification as long as you don't overdo it with the size of the space you are trying to control... It really hasn't been that bad. My complaint is that the filter got dirty pretty quickly so I have to replace it relatively often. I have never had a leakage problem. And for me, it's not difficult to refill at all...
Hope this helps!
Over priced, cheaply made, ineffective
Despite the high price point this product is badly designed and poorly made.
Problems:
1. It does NOT effectively increase the humidity in the air.
2. It is extremely loud.
3. If you tap it and it tilts, even a small amount water will spill out of it.
4. The opening to add water is on the bottom of the tank which gaurenties it will eventually start leaking.
5. When you pull out the tank to re-fill it it drips a lot.
Details
1. It does NOT effectively increase the humidity in the air. After running on it's maximum setting for three days it's own humidity sensor showed no increase in humidity.
2. Makes a lot of fan noise, so if you are a lite sleeper you can not use it in bedrooms.
3. It holds water in an open tray. If you bump the unit and it tilts even a small amount water will spill out of it. If it stays tilted or falls over the entire tank will pour out of it.
4. The opening to add water is on the bottom of the tank. There is a cap with a rubber seal to prevent leaking, but it is only a matter of time before the seal starts to wear out. When that happens it will start to slowly leak. The opening should be on the top to prevent this from ever being an issue.
5. When you pull out the tank to re-fill it it drips a lot.
Vicks Tower Humidifier Garbage sounds like Small jet Engine
Have used this unit for 3 months.
Use in 15 x 20 master bedroom.
Sounds like jet engine when starting off
and water flow sounds like Victoria falls.
Refill requires you place heavy water tank in at a precise angle or it does not fit and leaks water out.
Never shuts off per control settings
POS will try and return to store or throw out for fear of fire.
